Linda Anderson Krech was co-founder of the ToDo Institute in 1992, along with her husband, Gregg, and they have been running the organization together ever since. For over 30 years, they have shared the wisdom of Japanese Psychology with the general public, as well as special populations. Through their natural approach to mental wellness, they promote the skillful use of attention, the cultivation of gratitude, the awareness of interdependence, the ability to put oneself in another’s shoes, and purposeful action in the face of obstacles.
Linda, a licensed social worker, is the author of Little Dreams Come True: A Practical Guide to Spiritual Parenting and a regular contributor to Thirty Thousand Days: A Journal for Purposeful Living. Linda also worked for ten years with those who have serious mental illness, as director of two psychiatric rehabilitation programs. She is passionately interested in bringing the empowering principles of Japanese Psychology into our western culture, by working with individuals, couples, and special populations. Now that she is in her 70’s, she is particularly interested in the needs of seniors as they orchestrate their “third chapter” of life.

Bringing people together to share experiences around food

I’ve been cooking and entertaining for 30+ years. My mother is my inspiration; a fabulous entertainer who hosted many dinner parties. I’ll never forget the lifelike cocoa dusted (to simulate “dirt”) ‘meringue mushrooms’. My dad’s role was ‘bartender’ and my mom did everything else. I caught the bug; BOTH actually. I’ve put a personal twist on things and am always thirsty for inspiration for any kind of entertaining.
But really, it’s always about the people. My goal is to bring people together around food whether preparing and enjoying it together, or merely discussing it.
I believe it is the thing that connects people best.
